[단독] 북한 IRBM 쏜 날 미군 조기경보기 한반도 모습 드러냈다

북한이 4일 오전 자강도 전천군 무평리 일대에서 일본 열도를 넘어 중거리탄도미사일(IRBM) 1발을 발사한 가운데 미군이 정찰기를 한반도에 투입했다.

항공기 추적사이트에 따르면, 이날 오전 미 공군 E-3G 공중조기경보통제기가 한반도 남부 지역 상공에 나타났다. 북한의 미사일 발사 움직임을 사전에 인지하고, 실제 발사시 궤적 추적 등을 위해 투입된 것으로 보인다.

E-3는 민항기인 보잉 707-320B기를 토대로 개발된 공중조기경보통제기다. 지구 표면에서부터 성층권까지 탐지가 가능하다. 저고도 비행체는 최대 320km 밖에서 탐지할 수 있다. 정찰감시와 지휘통제, 통신능력을 갖추고 있어 지휘통제 및 정찰기로도 쓰인다.
